PRODUCER KEN MARSHALL TO HOST SPECIAL MICRO-BUDGET WORKSHOP

London to Brighton is the first feature length film from producer Ken Marshall and was shot on a budget of just £80k. It got a wide cinema release in the UK, and has played at festivals all over the world.

"An outstanding, hard-hitting drama" – The Times

"It's audacious, exciting film-making, with nightmarish scenes I couldn't get out of my head. A dazzling debut." – Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian

After attending film school in Canada, Ken Marshal returned to England in 2000 and joined Random Harvest Pictures, initially as a runner. In 2001 he became a Development Executive, primarily focusing on RHP’s genre label Four Horsemen Films, during which time he worked on the feature films “Octane” and “LD50”. He eventually become the Head of Development in 2003 and optioned the project “The Cottage”, written by Paul Andrew Williams.

Ken spent the next two years developing “The Cottage” with PAW and solidifying their working relationship. In 2005/6 he was a producer on the critically acclaimed, award-winning feature film “London to Brighton” (written and directed by PAW). Ken and Paul formed their own production company Steel Mill Pictures in 2006. He is currently in post-production on the dark-comedy, horror feature “The Cottage” (release date March 2008), and is producing for BBC/Pathe “Song for Marion/The Choir” (shooting summer 2008) and developing a slate of projects for Steel Mill Pictures.
